I was en route from Houston to Fort Worth and was in the area right around noon. I did a quick search on my phone for BBQ joints nearby and this place popped up. Boy, am I glad it did.I ordered a 2-slice BBQ sandwich with a side of Ranchero Beans.I tried a bit of the brisket outside of the sandwich, with a bit of the sauce. Fabulous! The beans were great as well! Finishing the sandwich was bittersweet. No more to eat, but I was just the right amount of full.I struck up a conversation with the proprietors and let them know that nothing I'd tried in Luling, Lockhart, or Lexington measured up to them.Their converted pole barn is set up to handle big crowds, so stop by and give them a go!
Everything is amazing and the sauce..... oh my! Highly recommend ?
We went here last Saturday with HEB coworkers and friends... Had a blast the food was awesome!!!Parking: Lots if parking
What a find! We were heading north on State Highway 6 and craving good BBQ when Google steered us to this true Texas gem just off the beaten path in Marlin. The friendly owner greeted us with a generous sample of his secret recipe greens. Wow! Best greens we have had since grandma left us. The barbecue was fall off the bone tender and finger-licking delicious. A delightful breeze cooled the covered dining area which was decorated for Halloween and so cute I posted pics on my FB page. Great tunes on a fine system, the gracious staff, and the view of the farm made us happy to stay a while. This place is everything you want in a BBQ restaurant and more! Time your travel to hit Marlin on Saturdays at lunch when they are open. We didn’t see a sign on SH 6. They might not need to advertise to locals, but we were glad Google told us where to turn to find the best BBQ we have had in a long time.Kid-friendliness: As a retired teacher, I kept wishing I could have made a class field trip out there. Great Halloween decorations, fun music. Lots of room to run around and fun farm to visit.Parking: Plenty of parking on gravel
