Joe's Peking Duck House - Marlton

This restaurant is about 25 minutes away, and there's a reason I mention that. We went specifically to try a new Chinese place that had great reviews. We ordered the Grandfather's Chicken (their take on General Tso's), duck fried rice, egg drop soup, spicy green beans, and pork soup dumplings. The duck fried rice was probably the best dish, though it was a bit dry. Unfortunately, the egg drop soup was a letdown; it was overly thick and lacked flavor. The soup dumplings were decent, but disappointingly, they had no soup inside—just pork dumplings. The Grandfather's Chicken was overly sweet and heavy, which was not ideal. I would describe the green beans, but... they never arrived. This is why I mentioned the distance; usually, I would call the restaurant for a refund on the missing green beans, but with the effort it takes to get there, it's just not worth it for a single item. Overall, it was quite frustrating. I understand that not everyone lives nearby, and restaurants should account for that. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

I had a pleasant dining experience as the food was delicious; however, all three of us experienced some negative effects afterwards. I got a headache soon after eating my duck, my sister suffered from food poisoning and felt unwell throughout the day, and my father also had discomfort. This was particularly disappointing since it was Father's Day. We suspect MSG or other ingredients may have played a role in our reactions. Despite the great taste of the duck and the fast service, the aftereffects overshadowed the meal.

The food is absolutely fantastic; everything is made fresh and has a genuine taste. The service is outstanding as well.

Spread Amazing Beijing duck. The duck for two comes with so much food. The duck was tender. The fried rice was made to order and had plenty of taste. The wonderful soup was perfect for the cold weather. The highlight of my meal was the service. The staff was attentive and the food came out at the perfect time.

We were up in Marlton area yesterday and decided to get Joe?s Peking Duck House?s amazingly delicious wonton soup to take home with us. We have been dining-in and taking out food from here for over 30 years. We no longer live in Marlton, however when ever we are in the area, we always order takeout. When dining-in we always get the duck with the plum sauce, steam bread and bok choy.
