This is a newer restaurant but don’t be deceived by the exterior strip mall on Rte70 since this restaurant is comparable to any top restaurants in Philadelphia. The food is delicious, beautifully presented and has many interesting choices. Since I am a vegetarian the chef, Marianne, made me incredible mushroom raviolis to order. ‘My meat loving friends chowed down the rack of lamb (cut with a fork) . Staff was efficient and courteous. It’s has a clean , contemporary look and in the era of COVID the tables (and booths) are far apart so we felt safe.Marianne is previous chef and owner of The Little Cafe.Open Wednesday thru Sunday. Don’t hesitate!MARIANNES SERVES ONLY DINNEROTHER REVIEW MENTIONED BRE
Food was delicious, service was great. I love how almost every meal comes with a side of fresh berries/fruit! New favorite breakfast spot!
Very slow service. Food tastes good, but not any better than a local diner. Maybe they were having a bad day.
Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Service was very good and our food came out fast. My grilled cheese sandwich and tomato bisque soup were the perfect comfort food on a cold January day. Interior is open and spacious. La Colombe coffee is served which is always a plus. Prices are in line and reasonable. Menu is not too large which is also good.
I rarely give bad reviews... but my experience was AWFUL!! This experience took place on 1/8/22, just to track who worked there and who was cooking. I'm not sure how this place has such great reviews... but it's a new local joint that everyone seems to rave about and I'm all about supporting local businesses. When my husband and I walked in, I was excited because the place wasn't packed at all. From prior reviews, the only downside was the wait, but with many tables being empty, I had high hopes. The group in front of us was seated promptly, and then NOTHING. We waited about 15 minutes before someone even acknowledged us at the front. There was one older gentleman that came behind us and was like, have you guys been helped, and when we said no, he turned around. I only wish I followed. But finally somebody came and got us ready to head to our tables. Disappointment #1 There were many tables available.... but why would he seat us (2 people), next to a big family when there were many booths with enough distance from each other? We had to request if we could have the booth instead, which he then gave us an annoyed look and said, we'll it'll take like 5 more minutes then. Fine. Disappointment #2 The wait for the food was 1 HOUR!! I wasn't hopefully because during that whole hour I was waiting for my food, there was more people inside the restaurant with empty tables and no food in front of them. I was ready to leave by the 45 min mark but my husband kept saying I see your Chicken and Waffles on the counter. I said fine, but if it's an hour and I don't get my food I'm leaving. Disappointment #3 The food was comparable to Dennys unfortunately. Chicken and Waffles The chicken was tiny, flavorless and dry. The waffles were flavorless, a touch burnt, and really dry. The Eggo waffles in the freezer section is more fluffy than these waffles!! And the description of the waffles said it comes with a Mandarin Cranberry syrup.... but I witnessed the guy prepping my meal literally open up a can of mandarin oranges and drizzle that on my chicken and waffles. Really?! My berry bowl was probably the only thing that I liked on my plate. Steak Eggs Benny my husband had this dish, while the eggs were poached nicely, there was not much flavor to the steak or the potatoes that came with the dish. Also by the time it was served to him, the sourdough bread that came under the Benny was soggy and not appetizing. Butterscotch Bacon these were actually cooked nicely, although, it tasted more of just brown sugar than a Butterscotch flavor. But I still enjoyed it. Disappointment #4 The service was not great. It was slow, they all looked stressed and confused. They just looked like they did not want to be there. I can understand if they were understaffed, but at least acknowledge it and let us know as we are waiting. You guys are in the customer service business. Do better. And yes, I work in healthcare so I'm not someone who doesn't understand. We watched a group of policemen get seated and while I do respect police officers, they were obviously getting treated with better respect than the customers that were currently there. I wonder if they got their orders fast, but we didn't stay to watch their full service. But they were definitely getting waited on using all the servers they had. Again, mad respect for police officers, but your establishment needs to work on giving equal customer service. Also, I understand we're in a pandemic and there are probably more takeout orders than normal, they again, need to pay attention to actual customers that are sitting in your restaurant. Disappointment #5 Does this place have heat?!! Most people, including myself, was wearing our coats while we ate. Enough said. Positives Nicely decorated inside Sadly, we will most likely not return.
