This is not my top choice for Chinese food in Mooroolbark, however, I must say that the food here was quite good. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with special fried rice.
I used to frequent this restaurant 20 years ago, but it is clear that there has been a change in ownership. We visited the restaurant 12-18 months ago and had a disappointing experience, vowing never to return. Despite this, we decided to give it one last chance in hopes that things had improved. Unfortunately, they have not. The food was bland, lacking in flavor and presentation. The main dishes were indistinguishable in taste and quality. It is a disappointment to see the decline in the quality of this once beloved small restaurant.
Got around $70 worth of takeaway. Firstly there was not one sauce (had wontons and spring rolls and sesame prawns which usually each have a sauce - but there was nothing) wasn't even a touch of prawn in the sesame prawns, the spring rolls tasted stale. The fried rice was flavourless and again tasted stale. To add insult to injury you don't even get free prawn crackers.... However after that lot I'm pretty sure they would've just tasted horrible anyway. Could not find one positive about any of it, will never be going back.
Worst Chinese ever we ended up throwing most of it away extremely inedible and disappointing give it a complete miss never again
