You’ll either love it or wish you were back in America. The food is fabulous. Many entrees are served over a bowl of couscous and vegetables, we chose the daily special Mechoui, basically a lamb shank. Other options were chicken, sausage, veggies. If we had known, we would also have ordered a bowl of sauce that we saw on other tables, as couscous can be a little dry and bland. Enjoyed it, a bargain at 10€ each and would return if back in town.
We had very nice dinner at la goulette restaurant, my lamb cotlets were barbecued to perfection served with home made frensh fries and plentiful salad...my husband had merguez we shared Tunisian specialty “ slata mechwia” all for 20€ In a lovely family cosy atmosphere...we highly recommend it for North African or Tunisian cuisine lovers ...thank you :
The food was really tasty and the portions were quite generous (we had the couscous and the grilled lamb). The staff was friendly and welcoming, we enjoyed the dinner.
We have just finished our meal here and loved it. We were looking for a cheap eat and this place excelled. The couscous was served with a great sauce and there was homemade harissa to accompany the food. I had the mixed meats which were barbecued to perfection.
We ordered a lamb couscous and chicken tagine which were both very tasty and very reasonably priced. The service was a bit offhand though, with the waiters barely making eye contact with us and the hygiene was questionable the kitchen staff were smoking in the kitchen.
