While we browsed the menu, everything looked so appetizing that we had a hard time making choices. We sampled all three salads, and I can honestly say the spinach salad with crusted goat cheese and figs was the best salad I have ever eaten. I could enjoy that daily; the combination was perfection. For our main dishes, we ordered the filet, the saltimbocca chicken, escargot, and a crab cake. Everything was fantastic! The crab cake was exceptional, showcasing the freshness and high quality of the crab. The presentation of all the dishes was beautiful too. Now, the steak—it was the best steak I’ve ever had, far surpassing Ruth’s Chris! The bordelaise sauce (I believe that's what it was called) was delicious, and the steak practically melted in my mouth. The chicken was both moist and crispy, with a delightful hint of sage and prosciutto. We had three dessert options and there were three of us, so it made perfect sense to order one of each. After all, who wouldn’t want to celebrate a Wednesday with dessert? The cheese pie with blueberries is going to haunt my dreams; it was divine! The peanut butter panna cotta was rich and creamy, while the chocolate pot de crème left me speechless. If you don’t live in Marshall, it’s definitely worth the drive. Make the effort, book a reservation, and prepare to be blown away by the incredible food!
If you haven't visited yet, I highly recommend it! The ambiance is small and quaint, and it feels nothing like a traditional diner. With elegant white tablecloths and an impressive wine list, the menu offers something to satisfy every taste. Chef Brian, who previously helmed the kitchen at Tupelo Honey (during its peak), has garnered a devoted following with his fresh, farm-to-table seafood and steakhouse offerings. I started my meal with the crab cake, followed by the local trout, and both dishes were absolutely delicious! Everything coming from the kitchen looked fantastic, and the portions were generous. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Don't miss the chance to visit; you definitely won’t be disappointed!
This restaurant is a true treasure. The food was exquisite, with well-balanced and rich flavors. I enjoyed one of the best ribeye steaks I've ever had. The service and staff were exceptional. I highly recommend this place!
Incredible food in a charming vintage atmosphere. Our group covered the pork, beef, and chicken and there wasn’t a bite left on anyone’s plate. My only suggestion would be a vegetarian entree offering, but other than that, we loved everything about the place. We will definitely be back. Worth the drive!
Absolutely amazing experience, start to finish. The host was kind and accommodating, our server was knowledgeable and upbeat. The wine selection is great, and we ordered more food than we ever had anywhere else. Everything was delicious and beyond expectations. We had the bread service, fried gator tail, fried brussels with parmesan and bacon, the fried brie (we really don't often go out for fried food), the shrimp cakes, fried chicken saltimbocca, the almond crusted mountain trout, plus my partner got the lobster fettuccine while I got the cheese pie to take home. We'd originally been seated at a two seat table and were moved to a four seater to accommodate our huge spread of delightful food. We definitely plan to return.
