Calvin Rockett's Grill - Marshalltown

My coworkers and I dined at Calvin Rockett on a Monday night and found it bustling with locals. The bartender was friendly and attentive, making our experience enjoyable.

A bit late in posting this, but Yelp prompted me, so here it goes... I dropped in for lunch and was greeted by a lovely bartender who assisted me in making my final decision on...

There are numerous options for both meals and appetizers. I highly recommend the Rickett chips with plenty of delicious ranch dressing! The staff is usually very friendly, although I did have one issue in the past.

I would rate this restaurant three stars, with an additional star for the outdoor seating. The food varies from good to just okay. So far, I've enjoyed the wings and the Reubens, but the chicken salad sandwich, Swiss mushroom burger, and bruschetta were underwhelming. One downside is that they only offer Des Moines IPA from Confluence on tap.

Without a doubt, this is one of the best bars and grills around! The food is delicious, and our waitress was incredibly attentive. She offered refills without us even having to ask and checked in on us just the right amount—definitely not overly pushy. We were all impressed, and we will definitely be returning!
