We definitely felt a bit out of place when we went there just for sushi. The restaurant appears to prioritize hibachi in the front room, which seems to be their main focus. The service was fast, but the maki left something to be desired.
I visited this restaurant for the first time last Friday with my boyfriend. At first, we were the only customers there. Unfortunately, after leaving, we both felt nauseous, and I even got sick. We were really disappointed and upset, especially after spending so much money only to end up with food poisoning.
This is our third visit to Aoyama, and it will probably be our last! While the food preparation was entertaining, the overall experience felt more like eating on an assembly line. Saying we felt rushed would be an understatement! Our group of four chose various combinations from the hibachi menu, and the total bill came to $100 for two meals, two drinks, and one beer. We received our soup and salads so quickly that it felt like they were being pushed in front of us! Just to note, iceberg lettuce offers little nutritional value. Some members of our party questioned the quality of the meat served, and my husband’s scallops were overcooked, as was my chicken. If you’re in search of a quick meal, you might enjoy this restaurant. However, if you’re looking for a more relaxing atmosphere to savor your food, I suggest you look elsewhere. We were ushered out in exactly one hour!
The staff was incredibly friendly, and we had a great time during our meal! We're definitely looking forward to returning for hibachi next time.
