Quite a bite of variety on the menu and everything I have tried has been good. The blackened tuna and the blackened cod tacos are two of my favorite dishes. The drinks are always great and they have drink specials often. ALSO, there aren?t many places in the Martin area to get oysters on the half shell. I recommend a visit to Blue Oak Oyster Bar and Grill if you are in the area!
Lots of festive and loud people providing a good taste of a Pre-New-Orleans marti gra experience. To have a local dinery typically only found in either Murray or Paducah saves a two hour drive and without a required. The rice and Alfredo is much too dry and not recommended. On the other hand, the house margaritas are perfect and with plenty of salt. You'll need to order two and bring your date. It may be a good idea to bring your own fork. The waitress was attentive and was in no hurry to go through menu options. Honestly she says the blackened chicken breast isn't good and went further to explain why. This is a favorite for us so next time myself and my Lady Bug expect to see you there.
We live in Atwood, TN, and while driving through, I searched for restaurants and discovered Blue Oak. I’m so glad I did! I will definitely make the drive to Martin just to eat here again. I highly recommend it—you won’t be disappointed! We visited on Thursday, and it was one of the best meals I’ve had at a restaurant around here since COVID hit. The rolls with strawberry butter were delicious! The salad had genuinely fresh lettuce, and both my daughter and I enjoyed perfectly cooked, tender steaks. The blackened gator bites were the closest thing to Florida I’ve tasted in Tennessee, and I’m not sure what kind of sauce came with them, but I could put it on anything! The service was excellent; our drinks were always full, and we didn’t have to search for our server, though we’re not very demanding, haha. Since COVID, many restaurants have struggled, and while it’s not always their fault, Blue Oak hasn’t missed a beat.
If you're looking for a good steak or seafood, this is not the restaurant for you. When I mentioned that my food tasted like it was overcooked on the grill, the managers were indifferent. I cannot recommend this place.
We were a group of five seated at the bar. For appetizers, we enjoyed the blackened gator bites and Bang Bang shrimp. For my main course, I chose the blackened New York strip for the second time, and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone else in the group was also pleased with their entrees. The drinks and service were excellent too!
