Phoenician Taverna - Mason

When my coworkers recommended a tavern for lunch, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The friendly owners and chef greeted us warmly, and I immediately noticed the rotisserie with real layers of lamb and beef. I ordered a Shawarma sandwich and a homemade iced tea with lemonade. The sandwich was one of the best I've ever had, and the fries were perfect. I highly recommend this place.

Wow, this restaurant is simply fantastic! It truly deserves all the praise it receives. The food is phenomenal, the ambiance is great, and the service is top-notch. I find myself coming back here often and will definitely continue to do so. It's just too good to pass up!

This restaurant is extremely efficient with quality service and incredible food. My classmate and I reunited after over thirty years and the experience was nostalgic, emotional, and delicious. I highly recommend this place for its outstanding food.

Great taste. this was the first visit in the phoencian taverna, but it will not be our last. we visited on a very busy Friday evening, but although everyone was full of table, the service was fast and we were waiting for nothing. I was made by one of my Lebanese friends who said that eveything was very authentic and tasted like his family home cooking. we had a mix of cold in between to divide between us 6 and then the schawarma for our main dish, everything was very tasty and sometimes a little salty, but not too much to make it unpleasant. the food and the drinks were all very cheap, especially the wine, I wish more places would not be over fee for their alcohol. I liked the decor and the bar area, as I said, we will be back for more

Amazing food, spotty service. I eat at Phoenician Taverna about once a month and the food is outstanding! I have ordered several different items off of the menu, and have loved almost all of them. The pumpkin kibbeh, hummus, falafel, pita, shawarma, etc. are all the best in town. I didn't particularly care for the flat bread I tried with lamb and beef, but I think that is a personal taste issue. Their vegetarian lunch special is probably the best lunch available in Cincinnati. Most of the time the service is good, and sometimes great, but it all depends on your server and timing. I tried to hold a work lunch there with about a dozen people and the service was so off that some of us were getting served well after others had finished their meals. I also went with my family and experienced a similar event, where the waiter put in the wrong item for my order. When I asked him to correct it, he said he would but then disappeared from the dining room. After 20 minutes, the rest of my family had finished and I still didn't have my dish. I complained and the owner comp'ed my food, but I was an unhappy customer. Phoenician Taverna, please work on making all of your service up to par with your delicious food and work on having a stronger lunch service that would allow local businessmen and women (and there are many) to frequent your restaurant during the lunch hour.
