Owner very Friendly but We were overcharge 4 small caprese salad 4 small drinks 4 small pastry small olive oil and small cheese to go. Total price was $81.00 eur. We found the place on our way to the Church on the Mountain and We like to give small Patrons Business specialy out of Season. Very Disappointed Tourists Trap. Our Intentions were Kind. So Sorry if this comment will make You Incomfortable . Tourists are the Source of Income and You want Them to Come back. Take this Advice as Positive Lesson to Learn. Respectfully Wilmert Reyes DelCid.
We always love to find great spots off the beaten path and try to avoid the tourist traps. Pulling into Termini, we bypassed the bar near the center and followed the signs for Chicosa Bar. Enrique provide an enthusiastic welcome and we each had a cappuccino and delicious sfogliatelle ricce (typical Napolitano lemon ricotta pastry). He insisted we come for dinner one night and proudly stated that he does not charge a “coperta” like other restaurants and that his pasta is only €8 AND is homemade by his mom. We came back the 2nd morning and had the same thing and noticed we were charged a little more than the first time, although there are no listed prices anywhere. At first, we didn’t think too much of it. But, when we came back for dinner that same night after a day of riding all over Compania, we were greeted by Enrique’s son, Giovanni, who asked if we wanted to start with an antipasta, which we agreed to. He then brought us each a plate consisting of prociutto w/melon, cheese, olives, eggplant and pumpkin. As we were only two people, we were surprised when he brought us each a plate instead of one to share but didn’t protest as it was already made and there wasn’t anyone else there. The bread he brought us was placed in a slightly unwashed, stainless steel bowl with a disposable napkin as a “liner”. We were pretty disappointed to be charged €40 for the antipasta, bread, a bottle of water and incredibly small, children’s portions of a fairly dry pasta carbonara (with 3 miniscule pieces of guanciale) and mushroom risotto made with jarred or canned mushrooms. We were really bummed. We really liked Enrique. He and his wife seemed so warm but we left feeling like it’s all a bit of a racket. We ended up finding a lovely Michelin rated restaurant where the food is fresh and made with love, and the bill was only €56 for our meal including wine. It’s just a few kilometers away in Sant Agata called Lo Stuzzochino.
Very informal and simple dining point, with small tables on a small street. quiet area outside the mass tourist flows. the manager and his family make you feel at home, do everything to indulge. a few dishes but good lemons, better than the restaurants of sorrento, such as lemon cutlets, ravioli and gnocchi alla sorrentina. very affordable prices. they also sell many local products of their farm, lemons, oranges, cheeses, cold cuts, oil, nuts, various liqueurs. At the end we are getting some things. as at fair prices.
This bar/caffe is a real gem in Termini, and was recommended to us by our friends. We went there with them (their second visit, our first) at the end of a walk along the coastline from Termini where we had parked the car, only intending to have a coffee, but ended up having some brunch a caprese salad with some cold cuts and delicious coffee ..... Everything he serves there is either home made or home grown, and he sells lemons, tomatoes and other home grown fruit as well (displayed outside the bar). We haven't stopped talking about this place it was probably the highlight of our 10 day stay on the Amalfi coast! He serves the sort of food that you go to Italy to try! Lovely family run place .... and we would definitely go there again and again and again. When we arrived, the owner told us that he was expecting a group of people, but we co uld sit down until they arrived and then we would move to sit outside. But the group didn't arrive until we were just leaving so it worked very well. The owner greeted us all like long lost friends!
