Papa Gente - Mata de São João

Incredible food, wonderful service and good location. Very good for a visit with friends and family, or even a solo. The manager was very nice and friendly, and the staff too. The place is surrounded by good music and people and offers... a very good experience. Thank you Marcia for one of the best records I ever had in all my trips to Brazil. The restaurant is recommended.

Delicious fresh seafood and traditional dishes. I had the seafood risotto and it was delicious and a large part. A great experience!

The food was absolutely amazing, very fresh with many spices and also the service was excellent. We can recommend it!!

Unfortunately, a good kitchen has no good restaurant to fit it. Terrible service, drinks took 45 minutes to come, food (Starter) took 1:40h and got wrong. Then we gave up and eat somewhere else. The manager was rude and said... that was normal on vacation. We all understand that it will take some time when the restaurant is full, but that was not the problem. The problem is lack of attention, lack of organization leads to poor salaries being paid and local workers being researched without training.

On two consecutive nights we had dinner in Papa Gente. The food was simply excellent. We had the typical Bahian dishes like Moqueca cooconut shrimp stew and fried whole red fish combined with some more international dishes like fried squid rings. All very...tasty however the fried banana with orange caramel and ice cream was the sublime ending to our dinner both days. The staff is super friendly and service smooth and well timed. Highly recommendable.
