Island Jerk Chicken - Matteson

The food here is quite disappointing. It wasn’t served hot, and the yams tasted like they came straight from a can. The macaroni was decent, but the jerk tacos were terrible; they left a bad aftertaste. This was my first and definitely last visit. On a positive note, the customer service was friendly. There were plenty of staff, but the service was quite slow. I would rate the customer service an 8, but unfortunately, the food only gets a 2.

This is easily the worst jerk restaurant in the southern suburbs. Everything was overly vinegary and salty. The brown stew chicken had a strong vinegar flavor, the rice and beans were dry with an odd texture, and the mac and cheese was almost decent but tasted too salty and lacked any pepper. As for the white bread, it left much to be desired. I expected better.

The dishes weren't great overall, but I'm willing to give them another chance. Perhaps I'll try something different next time. The chicken, however, was good.

The chicken tacos are always tasty. Not a big fan of the sides but that?s just my opinion. Only bad thing to say is when I ordered cabbage I received greens, buts that close enough. Also ordered an Apple cobbler my oh my was it delicious, definitely getting that again for sure.

One of my go-to places to grab something to eat. fantastic location, well organised, and excellent service. Highly recommended!
