Stumptown Station - Matthews

The ambiance was decent, although a bit noisy for my liking in a specialty cocktail bar of this caliber. I didn't hold it against the place too much because that's more about my preferences than a flaw of the establishment. The upstairs area was charming, though a bit cramped, and did have comfortable seating with chairs and a couch. I was somewhat underwhelmed by their specialty Old Fashioned. It wasn't terrible, but given that a bar like this prides itself on unique twists on classics, I expected more. My companion tried a cinnamon and whiskey cocktail that I thought was better than mine and quite tasty, though it didn't completely blow me away. Overall, not a terrible experience by any means, but it wouldn't be my top choice if I wanted to spend an evening socializing or chatting over artisanal cocktails.

I enjoy visiting this restaurant in Matthews for a drink when other places are closed.

We had a great time at trivia night. Casey did a fantastic job as our bartender and Fernando was very welcoming and friendly.
