Cook Out - Mauldin

On a positive note, I recently visited the Cook Out in Anderson, SC, and had their huge burger, which was much better. The buns held up nicely, unlike the ones in Mauldin. You guys really need to improve!

The drive-thru was quick, and they got all eight of our shakes correct and properly labeled, without any excuses about their ice cream machine being out of order. I really love Cookout!

I went through the drive-thru tonight around midnight to satisfy a pregnancy craving and ordered a spicy chicken sandwich tray with two sides of hush puppies. I was extremely disappointed and disgusted when I got home and saw what I received. The chicken on my sandwich was burnt, the bun was hard, and the lettuce was inedible—it was that bad. I also got just one side of hush puppies, which were burnt as well. I wouldn’t even serve this to anyone! What is happening with people? I’ve never had a bad experience at Cookout until tonight. Just looking at my order turned my stomach and made me lose my appetite. This was the worst service I’ve encountered.

One of my favorite fast food spots and definitely one of the best values for a meal in the area. They've raised the price of the cookout trays by $1.25 recently, but I guess that's just inflation. The atmosphere inside is always pleasant, and I think the food is quite tasty for fast food. My only complaint is that the drive-thru at this location is a bit awkward, but other than that, it's a great place to eat.
