Briarfield Cafe - Maumee

I stopped in and had a great lunch todaySince breakfast is served all day I went for the omelette and home fries.

What a great hidden gem The food was classic American cafe and all very well prepared.

Just finished dinner at this restuarant, chicken liver dinner and clubhouse Both were excellent.

The best breakfast in maumee. we have been going to the briarfield for a few years and I will never be impressed by the quality of food here. it is a stripe-mall, lower key, small operation, so it doesn't scream to eat here. the waiting staff is attentive and understandable from the menu. The menu points are standard to breakfast. what makes it out is the fresh quality of the ingredients. Best breakfast in Maumee. We've been going to the Briarfield for several years now and I never fail to be impressed with the quality of the food here. It's a strip mall, low key, small operation so it doesn't scream eat here The wait staff are attentive and knowledgable about the menu. The menu items are standard fair for breakfast. What makes it stand out is the fresh quality of the ingredients. I' ll use today's ham, cheese and vegetable omelette as an example. The ingredients for the omelette's are fresh and cooked to order. I can tell especially by the mushrooms. No canned, flavorless mushrooms here. The bell pepper and onions, same thing. And all sautéed to perfection. Not over cooked to the point of a mushy mass. The eggs were impressively light and airy. Their hash browns are amazingly crisp and golden brown. A request to add onions resulted in a nice portion of beautifully sautéed onions on top of the crispy hash browns. I've also thoroughly enjoyed their biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are light pillows of flavor and the gravy is perfectly seasoned and flavorful.
