Le Chalet du Lac - Mazamet

A nice quiet restaurant with magnificent views over the lake. Good food and service. Worth a visit and enjoy the sunshine.

The terrace is located directly on the beach of Le Lac Des Montagnes and offers a beautiful view of the surroundings. Our party of 6 has a variety of meals, and everyone enjoyed their selection from the varied menu. The winners were perhaps the “hamburger...du Chef” and the “tartare de tho n” (for those of you who like “tartare” and tuna. Children's menu is available. The Tiramisu Dessert seemed the dessert most appreciated. Service was ok: a very friendly waitress, who sits on her less loving colleague: no matter the whole lake, which is equipped with several activities for everyone, the trip is worth and so is lunch in the chalet.

If the weather permits, a table on the terrace overlooking the lake is a must, though it was a little chilly on the evening we went so we ate inside. Service is friendly and quick. The set menus start at 13.90€ (weekday midday only). Four of us dined and chose the 19.90€ menu on a Thursday evening. 3 choices per course with something for everyone. Food was fresh, put together well and servings are copious, though not overwhelming. The wine selection includes many local varieties worth discovering. Everyone went home very satisfied talking about our next possible visit.
