We had menu del dia. It was excellent for 10€ each, including wine, café and bread. Good salad, good starter and entrecote was best taste for a menu del dia. good service and great location on the paseo. will definitely return.
Four of us went for a birthday meal in the evening. The fish dishes attracted us in where we sat on the Passeo right by the beach with great views over the bay. Four courses with a litre of wine between two and coffee to finish for 10€, can't really beat that for value. However it's got to be good food and service and yes it ticked all the boxes. Home cooked, piping hot and we all got searved together
It is about a year since we last ate at Claudio. Unfortunately for us, it closes during much of the winter while we are in Spain, usually reopening around 1 March. We chose it for our last lunch in the port before heading off back to the UK, and it was a good choice. The Menu del Dia never changes, other than one dish of the day. But that doesn’t matter to me, as I usually go there specifically for the two dishes that they do that I love. A good thing is that the price does not change at weekends, as is the case with many restaurants. So, for our last al fresco lunch sitting in the sun with the magnificent view across the bay, I had steamed mussels as my first course. They were huge and delicious! My wife had the Avocado with prawns and was very happy with it. For second course we both had steak. I don’t know what they do to their meat, whether it is marinated or something, but it is always delicious and I ate every scrap, including every little piece of fat! We had Pan de Calatrava for dessert. With a carafe of wine and coffees, it was 10€ a head. No salad is served here, so 10€ is, perhaps, a little more expensive than other restaurants on the Paseo, but the quality is excellent.
Claudio’s has a great seafront position in the slightly quieter section of the Paseo to the east of the new marina. It has a good weekday Menu del Dia at 10€. To be fair, unlike many other restaurants, the menu never actually changes but that doesn’t bother me because it is the place I go when I particularly want certain things that they always do well. So, on our recent visit with two other couples, as usual, we had my favourites, the Mejillones al Vapor followed by the Ternera then Pan de Calatrava for dessert. The menu also includes wine (or beer) and coffee, but no salad. As always, the Mussels were lovely and the steak was very tasty. Not somewhere to go everyday but if you like what they have on their Menu, it will be good.
