Feedback gevenWe stopped here on our way to Aguilas on the off chance for the menu del dia on a Saturday and we were pleasantly surprised as this is a very good restaurant. A typical country Spanish establishment the food was varied, of good quality, well cooked and extremely pleasantly served. I had the gazpacho which I can highly recommend, it was delicious. Followed this with beef just served in its own juices with carrots and onions and a few chips. I am a big fan of Pan Calatrava (bread pudding) and this one was a good one! Only complaint was the main course was not very hot, unfortunately in most restaurants across Europe they do not heat the plates which does not help. The meal included a good salad, a drink and coffee and was 12 Euro a person. The place is quite rustic with a lot of local people and I take this as a good recommendation. When we next travel this road we shall call in again.
I have visited this place several times over the last ten year and I've always wondered how they can produce such quality food at the price they do. Walk through the bar into the dining room and you will probably find local farm workers having lunch. Don't be put off, it adds to the atmosphere. The dishes are all local Mediterranean specialities made with fresh local produce. The wine list is simple but inspiring. The service is a bit rough but then again very friendly. Definitely worth visiting time and time again.
Good product and good price, yes, knowing where you are ... successful.
