Yamhill Valley Vineyards - McMinneville

This place is amazing. We went there as a friend group to try their pinot's. The wine was very good and the best part was that they had a large variety of pinots for us to appreciate the difference.The tasting was room comfortable. We were also lucky to have a wonderful person named Monica who was a wealth of knowledge! She also helped us in having wine shipped back to our state.

Our tasting started out well with a friendly greeting and our first pour. We then had a different server who poured extremely stingy tastes. We could barely get 2 small sips out of each one, not enough to do a fair assessment of the wines. When we went to pay our $50 for the two tastings, we were then given a hard sell to buy their wines. There are plenty of other tasting rooms in the area that give more standard pours and no hard sell on their wines.

The wine was decent... but not spectacular. The service was excellent. The tasting room was a bit dated but the property as a whole was very nice. Stop by Erratic Rock just down the road from Yamhill. It's sort of fun and has nice views.

Great wine, kind and helpful people. The outdoor seating was beautiful. We popped inside for our lasting tasting and this experience was also comfortable and serene. The maps on the walls and history of the winery were worth taking a few moments to read. Don't just pass them by. It's definitely worth the trip.

The change in management and wine maker have been very good for the wines. Very worth watching in the coming years.
