Basil Leaf Thai Cuisine - Mechanicsburg

Feeling tired, hungry, and in the mood for spicy food, we decided to stop at this restaurant after seeing some good reviews. I inquired about curry options without fish sauce, but was informed that all curries are pre-made with it. While I appreciated the honesty, I was disappointed to hear this. We ordered pineapple fried rice and pad cashew, both with tofu, requesting them to be made vegan and at a spice level of 4 out of 5. The presentation of the food was good, but the taste fell short. The tofu pieces were large and lacked flavor, and both dishes lacked spiciness. The vegetables were fresh, and we left feeling satisfied, but I probably wouldn't return to this restaurant in the future.

The owner of this restaurant is incredibly kind and made sure that our food was all vegan. Every time we placed an order, she would emphasize "no egg, no fish sauce." We have been here twice during our week-long stay and our 5 and 3 year old absolutely adore the tofu bites. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes from this scrumptious menu.

Consistently excellent. Be sure to mention that you are vegan. We have ordered from them online multiple times and they are very accommodating.

I had veggie spring rolls and spinach pot stickers. I especially enjoyed the pot stickers because the soy ginger sauce was great. My entree was massaman curry with tofu. Be sure to specify vegan so they leave fish sauce out. It wasn't the best I've ever had but enjoyable. It was a little sweet for me but still tasty. For dessert, we had mango sticky rice. The mango was nicely ripened and the rice was warm. Very nice. Overall, service was great, atmosphere was comfortable and food very good. I will bring my family here again when visiting.
