Kabas - Mechelen

A very nice plastic/waste free store with a lot of vegan products, not only food, but also oils, books and some things like thooth brushes are available. There are a few things that aren't vegan, but it is written on everything wich is vegan. Very delicious fresh bread spreads! There's also fresh made cheese and other vegan stuff. Friendly and helpful staff. Don't forget to bring your own bag and cans to put the foods in!

Great zero-waste initiative. Has a variety of food and non-food options like you'd find in a regular grocery store and also a fresh counter with vegan options such as spreads and cheeses and substitutes for meat. Definitely worth a look for both veggie, vegans and people looking to reduce their waste. To be clear: this is a grocery store and not a restaurant.

Kabas is an amazing bulk/packaging-free grocery store. Labels clearly identify vegan items. In my experience the customer service has been awesome! The attendants kindly explained the process to me and answered all of my translation questions. Bring your own containers or buy from a limited selection in-store.
