Upon arrival, we had a hard time to choose which tables to seat although only 2 were occupied by people, most of them were still dirty. There's about 12 tables in the restaraunt. Nice higiene. We sat down this restaurant and it took 15 minutes to the waiter to come. Upon coming, he just dropped the bread, without saying hello, gave us the menu and went out running to the kitchen again. Meanwhile, the owner of the place was having a nice conversation with the other table laughing and not paying attention to her surroudings. The other waiter comes rushing again, asking what we want. We gave him the order and he rushes again. Bear in mind, there's only 3 tables, including ours, being served. We asked for squid and pork. The pork was good. The squid, meh, try again it was dry and rubbery, which happens when you overcook the squid. My gf asked for a soup and it came splattered over the plate. Upon peeking over the kitchen, I see the chef has no mask on might be ok, but in Covid time, I think it's quite necessary. The 2 points go for: The waiter trying really hard to do his work The good pork. Can't recommend this place, tho.
Must say we expected more from this visit knowing that it was number one restaurant in this town based on Trip Advisor. What we did get was a real Portuguese restaurant, but the quality of food could have better. The staff was working really hard and trying to do their best, but unfortunately due to the fact that we don't speak Portuguese and they didn't speak English it was a bit difficult. The olives placed on the table before dinner was really low quality and actually puzzled us a lot. Also the house wine was of low quality, but then again also very cheap, so you can't expect much. Three stars for at least trying their best!
Lovey food, great wine selection and fantastic staff.
Bom ambiente, confecção de comida perfeita e cuidada. Excelente carta de vinhos
We have been going to Meda for years and have never noticed this restaurant as it is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac behind the main street. We were heading for another restaurant which we discovered was closed and popped in to this place to see the menu. So glad we did. Genuinely lovely people as run as a family business, the restaurant was clean, smart and had a menu in english, which is rare in this area. We were so delighted with our dining experience we returned twice more before returning to the UK. For families, we cannot recommend it highly enough. For a nice meal for a family, budget 10 euros a head including wine and juice for the kids. Thank you, see you in October.
