Hidden Door Cafe - Medford

I had the worst falafel sandwich of my life. It was bland, with a soggy salad that had wilted edges. Even the tzatziki sauce lacked flavor! I also found a hair on one of the falafels I ordered. The watermelon slices were pale and had brown, slimy spots, which I had to cut off. The serving basket looked filthy, as if it had never been cleaned. The salt and pepper shakers on the table were so grimy that it appeared they were never properly cleaned either, with napkins stuck to them. Water was served in disposable plastic cups, and we both found some mysterious substance on the rim of our cups or in the ice. Overall, it was pretty appalling. We forced ourselves to eat it, but it was just bad. The bathroom left much to be desired as well, and the dessert was only mediocre. Overall, not a good experience at all.

My coworkers recommended Hidden Door Cafe, so several of us decided to try it for lunch today. I had the HD Hawaiian sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious! The thin, tender tri-tip was marinated in teriyaki, and the fresh vegetables were complemented by what tasted like a home-style broth. I’ll definitely be back!

Today, we stumbled upon a hidden gem for a delightful lunch that lasted over an hour. The food was incredibly tasty, and the chef was fantastic—very friendly and provided excellent customer service. However, we had a bit of a mix-up as we waited quite a while for our meal. When our food finally arrived, it was mistakenly given to another table. Luckily, the other customer realized the error and returned our order. The waitress handled the situation well, though there were some inappropriate drinks involved, and she ended up bringing us a pitcher of water instead. Hopefully, that won't happen again. Overall, it was a lovely experience despite the hiccups!

The most amazing food ever!! Friendly waiting staff? I recommend the Riley, who is a very chic Gyro! Fresh from scratches and with some AMAZING Tzitziki sauce!

Absolutely sensational food and the Baklava will always have a special place in my heart. I want to come back here Monday-Sunday! The atmosphere bus quaint and friendly but the heart and soul is with the owner. She is just as sweet as pie and knows how to make some AMAZING food. Support local and eat at HIDDEN DOOR
