Island Empanada - Medford

This was my first and last time visiting this restaurant. The service was terrible - when I went to order at the counter, the employee just stared at me and didn't speak, even when I asked how they were. The most offensive part was when I paid with my card and signed the receipt, the employee pointed out to their coworker that I didn't leave a tip right in front of me. I don't believe in tipping for simply picking up my food, especially when there was no greeting. I will not be returning, I am truly surprised by the experience. The food was just okay.

Good place, good service, positive suggestion would be to expand the zason since empanadas are consumed in several countries and it would be good to add some traditional flavors from each country Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Food taste ok but the price is steep for what your getting went to dollar store finally I decided I get a exotic one like I tried from there truck at fall fest in Patchogue the one from there truck I got what I ordered pretty good tasting was not free 4 bucks ,store 30 cents higher plus the tax of 30 cents much to costly to spend on a item that won't fill u up a egg roll fill up more so 4.66 total and one prepared was not the one ordered after a couple bites figuring out shrimp and mango clerk in front got it right even had stickers on bag but would take another 10 minutes to make another if complained , to them if they did it so ate it . It was the shrimp one with vegetables in it ,clerk didn't do anything after I told him ,I won't stop in much not affordable cart food

I have eaten at this restaurant three times this week! Each visit, I try a different type of empanada, and so far my favorite is the chipotle beef with sweet plantain. They also serve one of the best Cuban sandwiches I have ever had. I definitely recommend this place. The service, dining experience, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 5. I highly recommend trying the Cuban sandwich.

The restaurant is okay. There are better options out there. The food, service, and atmosphere all rated a 3.
