We were warmly greeted by the wonderful owners, Philip and Anke, who made us feel right at home. They have a fantastic variety of beverages, lunch options, and delectable cakes. The smashed avocado on Rye bread was absolutely delicious! We are thrilled to have found this charming café and highly recommend it. It's rare to feel so welcomed in a café, and we truly appreciated it. We will definitely be returning in the future.
The restaurant is very welcoming, so we decided to stop in for some tea and cake. We enjoyed a cup of tea and a spiced chai latte, both delicious! We also had a slice of coffee and walnut cake, which was loaded with nuts, and a gluten-free lemon cake, which were all tasty! Additionally, we bought some beautiful coasters and a Christmas decoration. Although it was a bit pricey at £68 for our tea break, it was definitely worth it.
My wife and I went to this restaurant today for some drinks and dessert before we went back home. I ordered the iced coffee with cream, which was delicious, while my wife had a coke. We shared a slice of cherry and marzipan cake, which was absolutely delicious. The service was good and the shop itself was very nice. I recommend getting a bottle of tap water, even that was surprisingly good!
Came across this lovely little tea room when visiting Rochester. The lady owner was very friendly and chatty. Had a latte and my husband had a cappuccino, in fact he had two has it was so nice. Not expensive. They were also selling lots of different trinkets for the home and garden. Would go back and definitely recommend.
I have visited capture the castle in the past and purchased items but never stayed for tea or cakes. I came along during the week with my mum and my sister, we were going to take a seat as my mum and dad regularly eat in here, the guy recognised my mum and said hi but when I asked him if they have a toilet his tone completely changed. They have no toilet, which surprised me being that they serve food and drink, but ok that 's fine... However as I am 30weeks pregnant, I would not have been able to sit through my whole visit there without one, so I apologised and said I would have to go else where. I felt bad and tried to lighten the mood by saying I 'm sorry I just have a very weak bladder at the moment haha to which I heard him reply we don 't have to have a toilet! I was absolutely gobsmacked!!!! I didn 't question wether or not they had to have one at all, I was simply saying I would need to go somewhere that does have a customer toilet. I absolutely will never walk through their door ever again! Such a shame that a beautiful looking shop has staff with such ugly manners.
