Waiting is enjoyable and the food is worth the wait. Making our own pancakes is more enjoyable than just eating them. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Be prepared to wait about 20 minutes or more for a table, but it is worth it.

This restaurant is a fantastic place to enjoy breakfast, but they also offer a variety of lunch and dinner options. Customers have the choice of either cooking their own pancakes on a grid plate at their table or receiving pancakes that are already prepared. They offer a variety of spreads, including buttermilk, and we opted for the "color package" which gave us four different colors of pancake batter to work with. They also provide various toppings such as fruit, peanut butter chips, nutella, and sprinkles. The menu includes classic breakfast items like omelettes and eggs benedict, as well as lunch options like po youngs. The service was good, although there was a bit of a wait during busy times. Overall, we had a great experience. There is outdoor seating available, but we appreciated the cool interior with the grid plates running throughout, especially on a hot day. It was a fun and affordable dining experience - definitely worth checking out!

It can be challenging to find good dining options on the Space Coast as compared to Orlando, but after a long time apart from my friends, I decided to visit a legendary breakfast/brunch spot in Melbourne. I found out they had opened a new location about thirty minutes north, so I made plans to meet my friends there. One unique feature of the restaurant is their interactive tables where customers can cook their own pancakes. Another highlight is their commitment to using locally sourced ingredients from Florida, which is showcased on a map in the lobby. After a wait of 45 minutes, we finally sat down and enjoyed refreshing watermelon juice before diving into the extensive menu. I tried the fried gator waffle with orange zest and roasted gator, which was delicious despite the waffle being a bit dry. The biscuits and gravy were also a hit, drowning in a flavorful gravy. The Cuban Benedict with poached eggs, pulled pork, and ham on Cuban garlic bread was a standout dish. Overall, I appreciated the restaurant's emphasis on local ingredients and unique menu offerings. I look forward to returning to try more dishes in the future.

Back water is still quite new, so there is a pretty crowd waiting especially for busy times as 10 a.m. fortunately, there were many anti-seats available. they do not get the entire retina there, but the service is fast, friendly and very thorough. the place is still very clean, although it is so busy. eating is quite a lot cooked to order unless they grill it themselves, and my eggs were perfect. somehow they could isolate my tomato from my hot irons and the tomatoes were still cold. I've never had one. the speck is very thick, high quality and cooked to order. our waitress was incredibly courteous and helpful, missed no step, and was super happy to be there. that is so rare. we will definitely come back. it is an excellent experience for couples, families and people of all age groups.

Consistent, well-made, and same exceptional experience as Backwater in downtown Melbourne.The Wickham location has higher ceilings with the restaurant area seeming a bit larger as a result. Even more bar seating existons on Wickham, which is often a great seating option. The decor is still a museum level collection of old Florida items. The staff was just as friendly and efficient as downtown Melbourne.The offerings are prepared just as well. The Wickham location is a great way to give another convenient access to Backwater’s great offerings a little further north than downtown Melbourne. I included a photo I found on my phone after I asked the owner to take a picture of our group after a meal a few years. You can see his Florida pride. We’ve been customers for years and look forward to many more at the new location.This is a must visit location for great food, great old Florida atmosphere with clean and efficient service. Still fun and focused staff all these years later. Well done.
