The place was really busy on a Wednesday night at 8.30pm which was really strange for me. Being greedy and wanting to taste as many pastas as possible We ordered the mixed pasta for $37.90 and chose the fettuccine pescatora, spaghetti bolognese and beef tortellini cabonara. I enjoyed the pastas in that order. Beef Toretellini Cabonara probably wasn't the best pasta sauce combination. Great atmosphere and vibe. Loved the outdoor dining. Wonderful evening :
Good food, poor service. We were a walk in here on Saturday night when it was busy and it seemed understaffed. Was the kind of place where they deliver your food and leave you alone for the rest of the night. I ordered a seafood pasta, which came with average calamari and tiny muscles. The Napoli sauce that accompanied it was nice. Once we were finally able to obtain a menu again, dessert made up for the meal as we shared a Nutella pizza, coated nice and thickly with Nutella and a couple of strawberries, was a little burnt on the bottom of one side though. Wasn't quite the experience I was looking for on Lygon st, but if their goal is to get people in and fed quickly, then they did that well.
For desserts you have got to drop in here, there are some amazing gelato and cake choices and even the coffee is good. True Italian delights and they have a smoking and non smoking areas which is good as I cannot handle the smell of smoke while I'm eating. The staff are friendly and service was quick. It's nice to sit and watch the passers by and listen to the multicultural chatter nearby.
The food was actually really nicely made and quite tasty but the service left a lot to be desired. The Bartender doesn't seem to know how to handle a busy night. In desperate need of a floor manager. Decor is way too old and needs to be badly updated.
The service was fine nothing special the food I had was 90% oil, the prawns were revolting, there was one One scallop in the whole thing it should have been called a calamari paste. but in all fairness the atmasphere and ambiance was quite good
