Visited Coconut Palms on Saturday night with some friends and we were surprised to find the place pretty quiet, considering it was a Saturday night on Smith St! We were a bit skeptical as to how the food would be, but we were pleasantly surprised when the San choi Bao and spring rolls were delicious! Followed by Mongolian beef and satay chicken YUM! Will definitely be back and would recommend checking it out!
I have visited this restaurant many times and can always rely on their consistently good standard. While some dishes are better than others, I highly recommend the grilled quail, eggplant and silky tofu, fried salt and chili tofu, and Peking duck pancakes. The staff is always happy and friendly, and the service is quick. It's a cheap and cheerful option, and a BYO option is a bonus.
I ordered the satay crispy chicken noodle soup and initially was annoyed that it would cost an extra dollar due to a price increase in chicken. However, my annoyance quickly disappeared once the food was served. I give it a 5 out of 5 - it was excellent. The chicken was super crispy and the satay noodle soup was delicious. It exceeded my expectations. I will gladly return, but I am deducting one star for not updating the prices on the menu.
I have always been a fan of this restaurant. They offer delicious food at affordable prices and provide excellent service. I have tried their pho, vermicelli, and broken rice dishes, and the portions are always generous and the flavors are consistently tasty.
