Hibachi Japanese Grill - Melbourne

I went to Hibachi for lunch after seeing its 5 stars on Yelp.

"SOME OF THE BEST WE'VE HAD - BUT A LITTLE LIGHT ON SERVING SIZE" I bought 2 Groupon Vouchers - $158 - for 4 persons to eat at HIBACHI JAPANESE GRILL

Just finished a quick lunch at my favourite Japanese joint.

We were on our anniversary dinner, and we love Japanese food so thought we would try Hibachi.As soon as we arrived we felt the poor atmosphere but persisted.Our waiter clearly did not understand the menu and as there were so few people there he stood 90cms from our table and kept staring at us and checking our water. I asked him to go away as he was making us uncomfortable.1 course arrived then the second before we had finished the first, when we asked for them to slow down, we didn't actually mean to stop serving but slow down cooking, the meal was now cold. He kept bringing bottles of beer and wine, it ended up in an argument, very very poor! So many other good restaurants to choose from, i suggest you do!

Arrived at Hibachi tonight with no booking, and was greeted with a warm welcome. No problem seating our party of 5 plus a pram. The service by all staff was very good, and our food and drinks delivered quickly. We had the house banquet at $60pp which had about 7 dishes, all of which were presented nicely, and tasted fantastic! The decor is nice too. Wine menu is very over priced (min. $40 bottle for local wines). Pricing overall was on the higher side, but we all left full and content! Would visit again.
