Insta: melbfoodie_mark<br/ YT: MelbFoodieMark<br/ <br/ Grabbed Nigiri Sushi Set. One of the best sushi venues in Melbourne kept simple and focused on the freshness of their ingredients. As soon as you take a bite, it's evident that they use very fresh ingredients (no pre made bs . Absolutely delicious : Rice was also tasty and easily dispersed in my mouth as I chewed. Very reasonable price considering the quality of their sushi.
Lizzie’s first impression: Cute Japanese pantry on Smith St, extremely popular and fresh sashimi. <br/ <br/ Lizzie enjoyed: Literally one of the best sashimi and sushi places I've tried in Melbourne. The platters are so affordable for the amount and quality of the sushi. The staff here are so friendly and they sell a wide range of Japanese snacks which makes me miss Japan even more. Can't wait to come back to try the other sushi packs!<br/ <br/ Lizzie did not enjoy: The packs where it looks really aesthetic with the sashimi on top, they are filled with sliced carrots in the middle..so by the time you’ve finished the pack, it starts tasting like carrots instead. <br/ <br/
Rating: 4.5<br/ With lockdown in place, got my wonderful boyfriend to pick this platter up for me. Service is quick and easy with online ordering and friendly staff. Can’t say much since the sushi platter says it all. So much variety with such a pretty layout that gets my pallet prepared. <br/ <br/ Each sushi is treated with such precision and care, that the taste doesn’t falter after another bite. If I had to pick, the star of the platter was the inari sushi range. It was the unique presentation of the inari that is made very differently compared to other sushi restaurants. The balance of flavours was executed excellently, with the sweetness accentuating and intertwining with the umami of the prawn, chicken or mayo. <br/ <br/ Another favourite was the salmon aburi with the cream cheese. I love my cream cheese, and I love my salmon what a better way to combine these two different worlds of culture.<br/ <br/ The salmon and prawn were so juicy and fresh which did the classic nigiri sushi justice. I, however, am not really a wasabi person so the wasabi they add to keep the sushi intact was just a bit overpowering for me, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. <br/ <br/ We shared the platter between 3 people, and price was average; I wouldn’t say it tastes drastically phenomenal compared to regular sushi, but you can see the distinct quality of their fish. I also wished they had available sushi with fried elements, since I’m a foodie with an eye for fusion of culture and taste. But would come back for a nice picnic or catch up with friends! <br/ <br/ Value: 4<br/ Food: 4.5<br/ Service: 5
