Italian Chef - Melbourne

The pizzas, pastas, and salads at this restaurant are fresh and well prepared. It's a relatively quiet setting, perfect for enjoying a nice conversation with friends during dinner. However, be prepared for a longer wait time for your food, especially on weekdays (over 30 minutes).

We visited the restaurant on Sunday night, September 7, 2017. I ordered the Chicken Breast with Spaghetti sauce, but unfortunately, the sauce was cold after the first bite. We were not happy with this experience.

We celebrated a Birthday/Mothers Day with a group of 9 people at this restaurant. My 91-year-old Italian mother, who has limited mobility, was seated with great care by the accommodating staff. They treated her with respect and spoke to her in Italian. The food was tasty and plentiful. We have already recommended this restaurant to others and plan to dine there again. It has become our new favorite Italian restaurant in Melbourne.

We were a big group visiting Melbourne for the weekend. We had a great dinner at The Italian Chef. They accommodated 30 adults and kids upstairs in our own room and served plenty of delicious pasta, pizza and salad at a very good price per head. Perfect!

Beautiful italian food on Chapel Street. Great friendly staff. Loved the vegetarian filo parcels & pumpkin ravioli.
