Very tasty rendang beef with salad instead of rice. Low carb dieter friendly, highly recommend <br/
Killiney is quite a famous brand dishing out Malaysian food but what they are mostly known is for Kopi aka Coffee and Kaya Toast, and to be honest, we haven't tried anything other than exactly that.<br <br When we came across Killiney on our way to Elephant and the Wheel Barrow how wouldn't we try it, right? <br <br And the Verdict? Loved it. <br <br Although a bit different from the Malaysian food we have had , nevertheless Tasty and Inexpensive. <br <br Vegan Vegetarians have decent option to choose from too. <br <br Service was quite friendly and efficient. And yes, we did order Coffee too.
Pretty authentic nasi lemak with beef rendang. Was craving some confort Malaysian food and this really hit the spot. Generous serving of beef rendang and rice with all the trimmings (chilli, egg, peanuts, ikam bilis). Have to come back and try the other dishes. Also very reasonably priced.
My score 3.75 stars a bit patchy – some dishes good and a bargain, others cheap but average). J got takeaway for dinner from here on Sat 26th Oct late arvo). Really lovely staff, large clean interior.<br/ <br/ Nasi Lemak A fried fish and curry chicken $12.90) – Coconut rice was nice. Thick sambal was good, but tiny amount. Ikan bilis very good – crunchy but not fishy. Peanuts moreish. 2 small pieces of cucumber! 1 boiled egg was nice. 2 bits deep fried whole small fish – crunchy, tasty, I ate the entire fish J gave me the tail from hers). Was good, but would have been heaps nicer if eaten fresh in house I wouldn’t get takeaway fish again). 3 pieces of chicken and lots of really good curry sauce. 2 pieces were a bit light on for meat, but overall it was a generous amount and tasty. I would get the straight chicken version next time if having takeaway.<br/ <br/ Mee Goreng Veggie and tofu $10.50) – Was ok. Tofu puffs were nice, but not heaps of them. Not heaps of veg really either, but PLENTY of noodles.<br/ <br/ Fried Kway Teow Seafood $10.50) – Charry, very dark in colour. Quite thin noodles – would have preferred wider ones texture of dish wasn’t quite right IMO). 3 prawns were a bit dry. Fishcake was nice, but cut very thinly would have preferred thicker. A bit spicy, overall not bad.
