The staff seem disinterested and very particularly friendly. The range of food is quite good. When my Katsu Don came out it tasted and looked authentic enough. The portion was quite small for me so I ordered the Tempura Don. I have to admit the latter of the dishes was more disappointing. They should have separated the rice and the tempura as the steam from the rice severely softened the tempura. Also the whole dish was very dry. It does not come with miso soup unless you order it separately. The service is not very pleasant. I would not not be rushing back as there are plenty of other options in the area.
Hidden away on the third level of the Emporium this little place serves good, tasty Japanese food. The ramen noodles are particularly good and they have about 20 types. Mine was a rich bowl of noodles, minced pork, egg and variety of herbs and vegetables. A great kick of Sichuan chili was perfect on a cold day. Excellent Japanese tea and water is on the table. A nice little Japanese cafe.
After a busy afternoon shopping we were tied and hungry at 2.30pm. We were wary of a restaurant in a big shopping complex but it was ideal. Quick service, delicious Japanese food in generous portions. We both had fried rice dishes which were such good value at around A$14 plus s lovely cold beer. Perfect for what we were after!
Terrible service, what a mistake not one smile, well it's a public holiday so maybe that's it.I think they should call it kids in the kitchen, as the food is very ordinary. The Gyoza were dumpling balls in Gyoza shaped wrappers, not the elegant light filling mostly vegetables, terrible really. My friends Tempura was just batter and thick batter, not light and crisp. My katsu don was nice but they poured a sauce like it was enough for ten people. My daughter's Benton box was supposed to be beef teriyaki but I could not find much beef and the rice well just too hard, not to the tooth. In my country this is inexcusable, perhaps they are not Japanese?Otherwise it's a nice setting, easy to get to if your shopping.Food came out very quick.
Had the ox tongue rice dish and OMG, it's massive but I did manage to finish it. 5/5 Service 4/5 Price: 3/5 Overall: 4/5
