This restaurant serves Japanese fusion food. We ordered the Omakase meal and so there's a good mix of dishes. Each dish was well presented and they tasted great (but not Japanese).
I’ve been to many Nobu restaurants, this particular one twice, the blackened cod a signature dish is always good it still is, the short rib was ok probably wouldn’t order this again. The plate of broccoli was a joke, really it was 1/2 steamed put in a bowl with absolutely no flavour, anyone could do this.
After opting for the $170 per person menu, the food was decent but did not justify the high price. The atmosphere of the restaurant was underwhelming and likely impacted the overall dining experience. The view from the basement window looked out onto the Crown complex walkway, while the interior dining area seemed dim and outdated. The spacious dining room gave off more of a chain diner vibe rather than an upscale restaurant feel. There was no dress code enforced, so expect to see fellow diners in casual attire like hoodies and sneakers. The service was average, with some staff members lacking in knowledge and communication. During a 50th celebration, the complimentary cake was forgotten and only brought out halfway through dessert, which was disappointing. To make matters worse, the hostess informed us that we had to vacate the table even though we were waiting for the bill to be brought over. It was clear that there was a lack of communication between the host and wait staff.
This restaurant is outstanding in every aspect - the food, the atmosphere, and the service. It exudes elegance and class. Each dish was exceptional, but the black cod and cheese cake were particularly standout. I am eagerly anticipating my next visit!
