The George - Melbourne

I recently had a post-lockdown lunch catch up at this restaurant and mostly enjoyed my experience. The restaurant is lovely and has a great courtyard. They offer a nice selection of drinks and food. The cauliflower and manchego cheese croquettes were delicious. The hanger steak was very tasty, although a bit underdone - we asked for medium rare but both steaks were more on the rarer side. We struggled to cut the steak because they didn't provide steak knives, which made us work for our meal. Despite that, it's a lovely spot with delicious food overall.

I recently visited The George and was impressed by the great food, clean interior, and friendly staff. Despite the bustling South Melbourne Market just across the road, the restaurant provided a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. I will definitely be returning soon to enjoy a mix of traditional and new dishes. I also appreciated the convenience of being close to The Chef's Hat. Overall, a fantastic dining experience.

It’s great that this establishment is now opened again post Covid, it’s a great local pub a block away from where I live fantastic atmosphere, good food there opening of a new lounge shortly friendly staff it’s always a cheerful place to visit.

Fabulous food. My steak was superb. The dark cooking whilst leaving a medium rare centre was exceptional.

Delicious Parma at the George as we celebrated our first day out of lockdown, good range of beers on tap, friendly and accommodating staff who found space for us to stay and have a few more beers well after our alloted dining time frame was over. Will definitely be back soon.
