The Greek Spot - Melbourne

If the place is full of Greeks celebrating family life and friends you can be pretty sure the food is good and fairly priced. While a bit noisy and kitsch with Santorini colours, the fresh, simple fare is everything one would expect of a traditional Greek taverna. Moussaka, souvlaki and rissoles complement traditional dips, dolmades and baklava for before and after. Don't expect elegance or innovation in cuisine. Master Chef this isn't but it is good old comfort food.

Busy as popular with many patrons I know returning for more. Wide choice seafood, meat. Tasty appetisers. All the favourite Greek dishes. Very friendly, efficient service.

No wonder this place is always packed out even on a cold rainy weekday with what looks like very regular clientele. I've been here a couple of times and love that they always dish up fresh and top quality food!! Great char-grilled taste to their meats and seafood which is hard to find these days.

Took a visit to The Greek Spot for an early dinner with my two sons. Had to try and find a new Greek restaurant as our old one had recently sadly closed. Had the Saganaki as an entree and then had the seafood platter for two and the meat platter for two. The three of us thought that the food was first rate, with rich flavors. We could not fault one dish except the lamb cutlets were a little tough but still very tasty. Service good and swift but we were early and there were not a lot of people there. This place should be called The Top Greek Spot. We will definitely be going back again soon!

We've been here at least a dozen times and as always this place delivers for a family meal. The saganaki is always a favourite and the calamari has never failed either. Service some times can be a bit slow but they will hustle if you need.
