The Last Jar - Melbourne

I really want to like this pub, but it's loud and really uncomfortable. Staff are very nice and accommodating, but the layout is a few small echoy rooms with hard chairs. Come for a drink, but give the food a miss (burnt Parma and forgettable frozen Pattie burger). Price per person: A$40–60 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2

Nice spot for a quiet pint and a reasonable priced awesome tasting homely style food.. Beef and Guinness Pie runs in a very close 2nd best I've ever had only losing to Hooligans in Harvey Bay which is now closed so is now the best I can get. Wednesdays is traditional Irish music from 4pm.. but I wouldn't say its a session, more of chilled vibe. The Last jar loses a star due to lack of memorabilia or atmospheric decor, the walls looked bare. And the toilets need a major upgrade. Staff were friendly and warm with great service and chat. I will be back for more Pie. Ohh and the chocolate and Guinness Brownie was the bees knees. Weldone to the chef and staff. Great Pub Local Favorite! We’ve been coming here for years, the service is great, the pints are always cold and the food tasty! I normally can’t go past the Beef and Guinness pie, not to say the other options aren’t as good but this is a house classic!
