The Moldy Fig Brunswick East

Tasty Cajun Creole food, freshly prepared. Have had the real thing over in Canada and the US, and while the Moldy's take obviously isn't as good, it's the closest I've had here in Oz. Cajun restaurants are hard to come by in Australia, and the Moldy Fig doesn't disappoint. The food is outstanding, and if you come at the right time, you'll be treated to live jazz while you eat. I highly recommend the gumbo. I'm no Cajun, but I like to cook my own gumbos and they still aren't anywhere near as good as the ones at the Moldy Fig. Service: Dine in

Music and service was great. Food was generally great but potions were a little small. The cauliflower bites dish was to die for. A roast beetroot, green salad salad that was good but small. The chat potatoes was comically small, 3 for $15... they were good, but they're not oysters. we had the vego jambalaya, the only dish i wouldnt recommended from the 4... was a bit on the boring side, practically some mixed vegetables, paprika and rice.

Such an unexpected delightful evening of jazz and the most amazing delicious fresh food. Will definitely repeat the experience. Food was pretty good, highly rate the cornbread, gumbo and jambalaya. The BBQ meat plate isn't quite my jam, much too sweet compared to the Texan style I prefer.
