Blue Canoe - Melvern

3 car loads of us loaded up and drove to the Blue Canoe anticipation very high arriving at 4pm on Sunday the 6th only to find it closed 4 hours early. No notice posted. Are they still in operation? Weather was not an issue.

Food was awful for the price,. Brunt deep fried Brussel Sprouts

Stopped in on our way to the lake. Pretty disappointed. Food took forever and came out cold. Small portions. Service was OK but it seems the locals get treated far better than an outsider. It seems like the management gets overwhelmed easily with large crowds. If you 're in the area drive a few extra miles south to New Strawn at Robert Lee 's Bar and Grill. Better food, more food, great service, and lower prices.

I hadn 't been there yet, so my daughter took us there for my birthday. The food was good and plentiful (I had to have a box). Not too sure about their definition of onion straws . I would call the service mediocre. High school students are not particularly attentive as servers.Still, an overall positive experience. I 'll intend to go back.

First time eating here. The chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes were excellent. Very friendly staff.
