Alex's Tavern - Memphis

This is a classic dive bar. I didn’t eat there but would love to give the food a try. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a dive bar: small, dimly lit, and cash-only. It really has that authentic vibe. I would have liked to see a wider selection of draft beers, but that's not really the focus here. I was just glad they had Coors Banquet in bottles. It’s a fantastic little spot; I noticed many patrons around me ordering wings and burgers, so I definitely need to come back to sample the food. I’m giving it 4 stars because of the smoking inside. I personally don’t mind it, but I usually can’t stay in those places for too long.

I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to write a review for my favorite bar in Memphis, but here it is. The prices are great for High Lifes, they have cigarettes, and the ham and cheese sandwich is absolutely amazing. It's truly the perfect bar.

The food is absolutely amazing! I strongly recommend trying the ribs and wings—they're exceptional. You won't find better food anywhere else in Memphis. The ambiance is also ideal for enjoying a drink with friends.
