Bishop - Memphis

My boyfriend and I are currently on a mission to try brunch areas around Downtown. So far, this is the best breakfast/brunch restaurant we’ve tried! Aside from the romantic ambiance, the food and coffee were perfect. Don’t forget the staff, they are very courteous. Will definitely come back.

Went for brunch with friends. Great atmosphere and decor. That being said, I had such an awkward and uncomfortable encounter with the hostess I may not return. I said “I have a brunch reservation for Knight at 12:45”. Easy. Simple. Just facts. She stared at me for an uncomfortable amount of time and then asked me if my reservation was at 12:45 at night. I told her again my name and reservation time and she was again so confused by this sentence and the look on her face almost made me leave. Is Bishop open past 12:45am? If my reservation was at 12:45 at night, why would I be there at 12:30 in the afternoon? Do you have reservations available for 12:45am? Is it common at Bishop to have brunch at 12:45am? It made me extremely uncomfortable that she was so confused and it took her so long for it to register that my last name is Knight and no, my reservation was not for after midnight. She laughed after being told maybe three times but I found it stupid and a waste of time to have to explain so in depth the obvious. How else can I say my name and the time of my reservation? The food was average, the cinnamon roll was wonderful, the drinks were fine, the waitress was attentive and friendly, the space was beautiful. I’ll maybe try dinner for a different vibe and menu and I’ll make sure to be extremely specific when introducing myself and the time of my reservation to not confusing anyone further.

One of the best meals I have had this year so far. The bar staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Nichlaus was our server and he was one of the best I've had all around The food was an incredible mix of southern cooking and French cuisine. I had the chicken, my niece had the steak frites. We had the corn bigness and the fondue for apps. Our drinks were strong and incredibly delicious tasting. And the dessert was a creme brulee with a tinge of orange taste which almost made it like a Creamsicle creme brulee... unbelievable dining experience and with a new menu, we couldn't be happier.

Absolutely loved my dinner here at this beautiful deco style restaurant. Emily was our fabulous server and made our evening special. The steak was outstanding!! Loves it! We will be back often
