Dwj Korean Bbq - Memphis

Me and my husband went to this restaurant today. We both shocked how expensive of their food are. I mean we have been to so many places tried so many different Korean restaurant. But never had one experience like this. Five pieces regular beef cost us $26. And a small plate of chicken cost around $16. And at the end, they charged us 18% of tips automatically without telling us. 7/27 update: I changed my review from one star to three. Because this is not only one Koreanrestaurant overpriced. The Asiana Garden also have same thing and also overpriced as well. I guess this is just the culture for Korean restaurant here in Memphis.

Tried to ask multiple time for clarification on random rules that where not on the menu or anywhere in the building. You have to have one item for every member of your table which is not specified or a rule at other locations. There is also no clarification on what you are getting. Each item was not told to us or read back to us until asked about. I get we where young adults but this was a treat for my friends and I was not getting clarification on things that involved a lot of money for me. Another big thing is I am allergic to sour flavors things due to them being a majority citrus based and very clearly asked for apple but was given sour green apple. I stated that was not what I had ordered and was more or less told I was wrong and I had ordered something I was allergic to.Dietary restrictions: Very clearly did not listen to order given something I was allergic too.

Overall bad experience. waitress was short with my group.did not take our order right even though we wrote it down for her. My friend is allergic to citrus and the waitress brought her a sour drink instead of the one she ordered. The door said there would be an 18% gratuity but we were charged a 20% gratuity and it was applied after tax. The service was bad, she barely checked on us through the meal.

My son and I tried Korean Bbq as a nice change of pace. We had never had it before. The food and the entire experience was magnificent. Enjoyed roasting our own food and the server (Lauren) was attentive and super helpful. A little pricier than other place but well worth it to me. The food was good, but there's nothing particularly special about it. with the rice bowl, idk I feel I've made better kimchi rice bowls at home. the udon was yummy, but also a lil basic on the flavors. good service though
