I just moved here from a major US city. To address any potential rebuttals: they provided just one container of sambar for three orders, when traditionally there should be one for each order. In their home country, a large portion of sambar would be served even for a single idli. To top it off, they charged me $15 for the chili chicken (which is shown in the photo, unopened, still retaining condensation after my 28-minute drive home). Even if we assume all of that weight (12.86 oz) is premium boneless, skinless chicken breast—which it isn’t since it includes the container, masala, and vegetables—the cost of the chicken alone would only be $2.62 (based on a national average of $3.26/lb). Are they really suggesting that their labor, masala, vegetables, and container are worth an additional $12.38? There’s a word for that: "CHOR." For $77.92, I could have had 4-5 star Indian food that would have fed two people for 3-4 days in a top 10 major US city, yet instead, I ended up with a single meal. This was an absolutely ridiculous experience, and I will not be returning.
This place is absolutely fantastic! I've been here three times in the past month and have no plans to stop anytime soon. The menu is filled with so many incredible options that I wish I could try them all in one grand feast—though that might contribute to a bit of indulgence! I highly recommend the garlic naan; it’s so delicious that it makes my mouth water, and the curry has me licking my fingers. It’s truly a hidden gem! The portions are more than generous, so I usually have enough left over for lunch or dinner the next day, and my coworkers always want to sample a bit of my meal.
I had the onion rava masala dosa, chole bhature, and chicken biryani. It was quite good, and we enjoyed our meal. Since they seem to be the only place in town doing dosas well, I suppose the high prices are acceptable, though $16 for a dosa feels a bit steep. I also asked for some green chili on the side, but the server said they didn't have any available. Overall, it was a solid meal!
One of the best Indian restaurants in the city! Unfortunately, we were unable to try the buffet, so I can't comment on that. I ordered the dosa and chicken hakka noodles. The dosa was fairly average, but the noodles were quite good. The server kindly treated us to a free "jalebi," which is a typical Indian dessert. We also took home a dummy biryani, goat biryani, and chicken lollipop. As someone from Calcutta, I must say that the biryani here didn't taste much different from what I'm used to back home, but it was still enjoyable. The lollipop was decent, though not the best I've had. The interior atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely, and everything was clean and well-maintained, free from the typical "curry" smell.
I had the delicious fries, and the food overall was excellent. Everything was well-cooked, and the hosts were very welcoming. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. This place is definitely worth a visit!
