THE BEST SOUL FOOD IN MEMPHIS HANDS DOWN. amazing black, family owned restaurant. i’ve been going to them for years. they are always good everytime i go. the oxtails are to die for! everything is always full of flavor and they are always so nice. the line may be long but it’s worth the wait.
Food and service was amazing!!!..Golden fried catfish was the best I've had in Memphis!!!...All of the servers were polite and exemplified the best customer service all while using the safest and most sanitary practices. We will definitely return!!!!
Start off by saying that the customer service and atmosphere where great I love going into local spots were it 's clean, the people working are smiling and friendly and the patrons look to be enjoying themselves and there meal. THIS was that place. One of the other things that caught my eye was a clear and professional menu on the wall. It had what was served according to the day of the week and was actually a marquee and not some hand written sign. In addition to the menu for the day the prices were clearly listed. So no surprises if you got to the register and ordered the meatloaf (which looked delicious) plate. I had veggies: creamed potatoes, cabbage and yams of course with 2 corn muffins. My food was tasty. The yams were delicious and my favorite of my plate. The cabbage was seasoned decently but a we bit overcooked and the creamed potatoes were really buttery but you knew they were homemade from the lumps of potatoes in mine. Overall though the food was pretty good for 'soul ' food. It wasn 't the best ingame had in the area but definitely cooked by someone who knows how to cook a decent meal. The last feature of enjoyment from my first visit was the price. The food is a decent price. Very fair for the portions, which weren 't too shabby. I will be back for sure on another day to try some of the other veggies offered because this was a B+ lunch!!
