The service is always fast and the staff here are friendly. Most of them know their customers by name which really adds a personal touch, and shows that customers keep coming back, year after year. Their sushi is freshly made, sometimes in front of you, and their hibachi is always fun to watch. The prices are very reasonable. Everything from their sushi to their drinks and their combo hibachi meals are well priced. I would recommend getting a reservation, as they get priority in seating, of course. The wait here can get a little long if you do a walk-in.
Great food! I have been going to Nagasaki Inn for 39 years. I remember that first time, because I got my first American Express card and Nagasaki Inn was the first charge I ever made on it. I used my American Express card tonight.
I've been going here since I was in diapers. In college I lived a mile away and lived off of sushi and sake. It's a great atmosphere, delicious food, and very reasonably priced. You won't go wrong choosing Nagasaki for any occasion. It's really a hidden gem that's been serving Memphis for over 40 years now.
I've been coming here for over 20 years (practically since I was born! and I STILL get insane cravings for this place. You'll never get tired of it. I can't even recommend anything specific on the menu because you just can't go wrong no matter what you order! Pro tip: do NOT skip the bean sprouts or the sauces that come with your meal, they'll change your life. And btw for everyone complaining about the upcharges, it says right there on the menu that fried rice costs extra. Did you think the butter/veggies/sauce that they put in it was free? You will need a reservation to eat here most nights because it's popular and for good reason, but they're easy enough to set up and you won't regret it!
