Friendly owner, friendly locals, loads of character and charm... feels like stepping back in time to what pubs used to be. Best of all, you can count on a chat with Aura, the pub cat, who's invariably to be found occupying her favourite chair.
A lovely country pub with a great history and well worth visiting, the world war 2 history is so amazing
Just as it seems it was getting back on its feet. There is yet another management change. I hope the new ones continue the sterling work that has been done of late.
I recently discovered this hidden gem through word of mouth. On Sundays, they offer only a few dishes and you can help yourself to as much as you want by making a donation. It's a fabulous concept! I tried the chicken curry, which was one of the best I have ever tasted. For dessert, they had homemade apple pie and chocolate fudge cake.
