Feedback gevenCalled in recently about 2pm for a quick light lunch. Service was quick. The offer for soup, a hot roll and a drink was excellent. The Chicken broth was hot and very tasty. Being a Waitrose card customer, we were entitled to 20% off the cake of the day which was fresh and delicious.
If you're in a hurry, this restaurant is not the place to go. I saw a sign for "first hour free" and thought I could quickly grab something to eat. Unfortunately, the self-serve system was slow and I needed assistance multiple times, adding 15 minutes to my visit. By the time I returned to my car, it had been just under an hour and I was charged for parking. It was my mistake for not getting a ticket, since I was unfamiliar with the system. Overall, I won't be returning to this restaurant.
I thought, according to the national press, that Waitrose had asked their customers to carry on wearing masks when shopping. This I was more than happy to do, whilst shopping in the Wells branch today this advice doesn't seem to have reached their staff. Two members of their staff, one who spoke to me and the other assisting on the self checkout weren't wearing masks. With such close customer contact I would have thought for their own safety they would have worn masks. I would have said that quite a large proportion of their customer base are over 65 so are more vulnerable to Covid and mask wearing for the staff should be more than encouraged.
The food was cold and undercooked. I would never use this restaurant again. It was disgusting and the wait for the substandard service and food was long.
This restaurant is not very large, but it offers a good variety of products. It has a sizable section dedicated to fresh flowers.
