Feedback gevenVery fun dinner tonight at Tapas y Mas. Hosts (owners) were very cordial, although we did spend quite a bit of time with empty wine glasses. I would have had at least another glass or two if I would have been offered one... The food was solid. Tortilla was very nice, patatas bravas were delish. The starter of chips (bagged potato chips) was a little week. The pan tomato was average. I would order the calamari again as well. Very tender. Overall a solid meal. Ambiance outside in the alley is beautiful, very charming... And the prices are fair. It is France, so I guess you must remember that you won't be checked on more than once or twice... I'd go back, but not twice in one trip.
We ate at Tapas y Mas this evening (two adults and two children). We had six dishes which more than filled us. The highlights were prawns, patatas bravas (potatoes in garlic), fresh asparagus, chicken in breadcrumbs, sardines, and croquettes with carne con queso (beef in cheese). We topped this off with profiteroles and chocolate cake with vanilla cream plus two cappuccinos. Every dish was excellent fresh ingredients freshly cooked. The two guys running the place could not have been more friendly or welcoming. The place was spotlessly clean. The finishing touches were impressive too whipped cream on the coffees and bon bons with the bill. The value for money was excellent total bill was 56 euros about eleven pounds/head. This also included one beer and three cokes. We will definitely eat there again during our few days in Menton and we would happily recommend Tapas y Mas.
The two guys that run this place were the sweetest most friendly people in Menton. The food and the wine (Rioja) were great. It was gay friendly too, which was a bonus as this town was a bit straightsville.
Loved this tiny place - food was just so good and service was humorous and fun. Best brandade ever. Will definitely return. Paid under EUR50 for two including lovely bottle of rose, 7 dishes plus two desserts! Needed the long walk back to the hotel to walk it off.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Tapas y Mas last evening. The sautéed shrimp (gambas) was delicious. The potatoes were rich and garlicky. I particularly appreciated the server/ chef suggesting that we order only three dishes instead of four. The tapas servings are larger than in many tapas restaurants where we have eaten. It was fun watching all the cooking take place in the small setting. We also enjoyed the casual, friendly atmosphere. The tasty sangria was an added bonus.
