This bakery in the west is definitely the tastiest. I enjoy trying pies in rural towns, and on this trip (from the Sunshine Coast), we have tasted quite a few. The pies at Grants Bakery are now at the top of my list. I had a steak and kidney pie (with real steak), while my husband had a bacon and egg pie. Both were delicious! I also couldn't resist the tempting cakes and pastries on display. I had planned to come back tomorrow (Sunday) for morning tea, but unfortunately the bakery is closed on Sundays. As we enjoyed our pies and coffee, we noticed a steady stream of locals coming in for their treats (and bread). I highly recommend this place.
Grants Bakery in Mt Isa offers delicious sausage rolls and pies, as well as beautiful cakes and desserts. The staff is friendly, but the coffee could use some improvement.
You know a bakery is good when the queue for service goes outside the door. Never fear, the efficient staff will quickly serve you. We chose a steak and kidney pie, and a cheese, tomato and onion pie with cappuccino and tea as our breakfast. Seating is available in the forecourt outside. Pies were tasty and hot with a nice, flaky pastry. Good for a quick breakfast on the run.
Haven't been to better bakery in North Queensland, bread is sensational and lasts a couple of days, Pies are great with a good veriaty as well. If you're thinking of dieting don't look at the selection of cakes slices, my mouth is watering as I am writing this.
